
It’s great to come to a provincial capital city like Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. A nice size for an Asian city, no honking cars, roaring motor cycles or milling crowds. Instead, an ease that just invites you to stroll. Having not been to KK – as it’s locally known – for 3 years is a little like meeting an old friend. You tend to want to catch-up on what’s new.
The Hyatt Regency Kinabalu has been here for 35 years doing what the Hyatt does best but recent refurbishment has seen the rooms smartly updated with an impressive new Atrium Lounge and a first for KK, a brand new Open Kitchen and mighty fine it is.
Good food and great show. When you layer the sophisticated Japanese fine dining option, the international cuisine of the show kitchen on top of the varied Malay/Chinese street food heritage, my old friend has added some tasty delights and grown a little more……..
